Die dritten internationalen Dadafestwochen in den öffentlichen Toiletten 2004.

In anticipation of the next Dada festival weeks due in February, just before I was to take up a scholarship in New York, I was racking my brain trying to figure out how to top the success of the Sihlpapier site, which was surely the largest squatting action in Swiss history. At some point I had the idea to look for the smallest possible place to be squatted and thus the concept of a toilet cabin festival was born. Pastor Leumund and I called on the head of the Zuri-WC-AG, the manager of all public city toilets. To our surprise, it was not at all difficult to persuade this gentleman to grant us temporary use of toilet buildings.

Usually all public toilets close during the winter, but there were also some that have been boarded up for several years. After we signed a lease for five toilets, I entrusted Pastor Leumund and the Plattenstrasse all-stars with the rest of the festival organization and flew to New York for a nine-month residency.
