9th DADA FESTIVAL / D.I.V.O. INSTITUTE
KOLÍN, CZECH REPUBLIC / 2015
The 9th Dada Festival took place at the d.i.v.o. Institute in Kolin from the 11th of September until the 19th of September 2015. As usual in ths d.i.v.o. Institute, based in a historical villa in centre of the czech town Kolin, the living museum was used to display, create and discuss art.
The artists were invited to stay at the villa, and visitors were allowed camp in the garden of the institute, complete with a catering service, serving breakfast brunch and dinner free of charge for the invited artists. During the festival, the invited artists created site specific installations all around the house and garden. The goal of the festival is to fill up the Institute with art as far as possible. Next to the exhibition created by the invited artists, a screening of international video art was held within the international dadaVideo Lounge. Here d.i.v.o. Institute screened a number of videos from international artists associated with the Institute. The lounge is located in the first floor of the villa, and was open to the public from 12.00-18:00 daily.
The Institute collection was also on display. Over the years the Institute has acquired a collection of artworks of artists involved in the various projects organised by the d.i.v.o. Institute o.s..
This years festival also marked the start of the interactive sculpture garden around the Institute. For this purpose sculptors were invited to produce site specific works that were be placed all around the newly refurbished garden.
Last but not least a number of events will take part in the garden and the villa. During the week thereperformances, film screenings and readings. On the weekends concerts from Prague based bands and dJs are going to take place.
